About SF Fog FC

One Club.
One Family.
For Life.

A neighborhood soccer club in San Francisco for ages 7 through adult. Community-first, not elite-pipeline-first. Soccer the way it was meant to be played.

"One neighborhood. One club. One family. For life."
SF Fog FC founding principle

SF Fog FC exists to fix a broken system. In San Francisco, kids play in one club until they age out at 18, then they lose their soccer community overnight. Parents play somewhere else entirely. Families juggle three different organizations, three sets of schedules, three fee structures — for a sport that's supposed to bring people together.

We're building something different: a single club where players stay from their first touch at age 7 to their last match as an adult. Where the kids you coach grow up to play alongside you. Where your neighborhood is your identity, and the game grows with you — not away from you.

The club that makes sense for real families.

Elite clubs charge $600–$2,500 per season. We don't. Here's what makes SF Fog FC different.

$100–200

Affordable by design

Our season fees run $100–$200 — not $600–$2,500 like competitors. Soccer should be accessible to every family in the neighborhood, not just ones with discretionary income to burn on travel tournaments.

For life

Lifetime membership

You never age out. The player who starts with us at 7 can still be playing for SF Fog FC at 47. No cut-off age. No "youth only" policy. One club, every chapter of your soccer life.

SF

Neighborhood roots

We're not a city-wide recruiting machine. We're building a club that belongs to a specific neighborhood — neighborhood fields, neighborhood players, neighborhood coaches. Local identity matters.

Compete at the right level. Always.

SF Fog FC participates in three league systems. Recreational through elite, youth through adult.

SFYS Youth · Ages 7–18

San Francisco Youth Soccer — Recreational & Competitive

The primary pathway for all youth players. SFYS runs recreational city divisions and competitive premier divisions, with fall and spring seasons. Insurance included. This is where most SF Fog FC youth players compete.

NorCal Elite · Ages 8–19

NorCal Premier — Future Competitive Pathway

NorCal Premier is the elite development pathway for players ready to compete at the highest youth level in Northern California. State Premier and NPL divisions. US Club Soccer sanctioned. SF Fog FC is building toward this pathway as the club grows.

SFSFL Adult · Ages 18+

San Francisco Soccer Football League — Adult

Established 1902. The oldest continuously operating soccer league in the United States. SFSFL runs semi-professional and amateur divisions with insurance included via USASA. League winners advance to the US Open Cup.

Coached by someone who's been there.

Credentials alone don't make a coach. Playing experience does. SF Fog FC is led by a coach who climbed every level of the game — and holds some of the rarest certifications in the Bay Area.

International
The game at its highest stage. International competition experience that very few coaches at any level can claim.

A coach who played at international level, holds a National D license, is certified as a USSF Referee, and built a neighborhood club from scratch — that combination doesn't exist anywhere else in San Francisco youth soccer. Your child is being coached by someone who has seen the game from every angle: player, official, and coach.

The questions parents actually ask.

Before you hand over your trust and your registration fee, here's what you need to know.

SF Fog FC is open to players aged 7 and up — with no upper age limit. Youth players (7–18) compete in SFYS recreational and competitive leagues. Adult players (18+) play in SFSFL. If you can run, you can play. We don't age anyone out.
Registration runs $100–$200 per season, depending on league tier (Recreational, Competitive, or National/Travel). Compare that to $600–$2,500 at most Bay Area clubs. League insurance is included. There are no hidden add-on fees for jerseys, club memberships, or tryout fees.
SF Fog FC runs two seasons per year: Fall (September – November) and Spring (March – May). Summers are for camps and development, not travel burnout. SFYS youth seasons typically include 8–10 matches per season. Adult SFSFL schedules vary by division. See the Leagues page for the full calendar.
No. The recreational tier is specifically designed for players who are new to the game, learning the basics, or just want to play without pressure. We have teams at every level. If your child has never kicked a ball in an organized setting, they belong here just as much as a player with five seasons of experience.
Yes. All registered players are covered by league insurance. SFYS provides general liability and accident medical coverage included in league fees. Adult SFSFL players are covered via USASA membership. Coverage is active during all sanctioned matches and practices. Questions about specific coverage limits should be directed to the league directly.
SF Fog FC uses San Francisco Rec & Park fields throughout the city — including Beach Chalet, Crocker-Amazon, and neighborhood parks. Field permits are secured through the city each season. We prioritize fields close to where our players live, keeping the "neighborhood" in neighborhood soccer.
Use the registration form on this site. It takes about 3 minutes. You'll select a league tier, provide your player's basic info, and complete payment. Registration opens each season — check the Leagues page for current deadlines. Spots are not guaranteed until registration is submitted and payment is complete.
